Transitioning to this new litter box requires some patience, especially with older cats. The included tips on how to get your cat to use the new box are quite helpful. I'd advise against the cardboard trays as they tend to absorb urine. Opting for the plastic reusable tray is a better choice. Regarding the litter, the blue crystals provided are decent but don't last as long as expected, especially for cats that urinate frequently. I've found pretty litter to be more absorbent and effective in odor control. Regular clean-up is still necessary, and litter mats can help minimize tracking. Overall, the maintenance is much simpler compared to traditional clay litter, and using pretty litter doesn't leave an unpleasant smell in the vacuum.
